VEL's Grid Automation
Built for people who ship stations, not demos
We make simulation and closed-loop tools that respect how substation projects actually move — SCD first, feedback required, results you can defend.
Company
Precision over spectacle
VEL's Grid Automation exists because protocol testing still loses days to missing hardware, ambiguous Excel maps, and masters that only connect after the outage window opens.
Our answer today is NetWise Station Sim: a desktop workspace that turns an SCD into live IEDs, binds a Signal List to IEC 104 IOAs, and scores closed-loop runs against real master traffic — import and play, without a configuration maze.
Next on the roadmap is GridWise, our SCADA software — so proving the station and operating it can live in one product family.
We keep products opinionated — Signal List, not jargon tables; Connected master before Play; clear ✔ and ✘ with restore on fail — so teams spend time on the station, not the tool.
Principles
How we decide what ships
-
Protocol truth over UI flourish
If a path cannot be exercised against live MMS or 104 behavior, it does not earn a green result.
-
Commissioning vocabulary
Screens and docs use the words operators already say — Station, Signal List, IEC870, Events.
-
No borrowed brand stories
We describe remote SCADA and gateway environments in general terms. Your stack stays yours.
